  1. It's no secret that Microsoft have been buying up studios like crazy, big studious with massive libraries and an incredible amount of IPs to work with. Many think this is to try and corner the console market, forcing more and more people to purchase an Xbox, but my theory is slightly different. To me it seems as though Microsoft are making the move to try and back out of the console game completely. They already make Windows, the single most utilized operating system on the planet, and they don't have hardware overhead of churning out PCs, so why not also do the same with Xbox, and turn it into a Steam-like platform. Xbox-As-A-Service. An app on your PC, an app on your PlayStation, an App on your Nintendo console. It makes sense. Financially they drop the overhead of console manufacturing, and while the Xbox is essentially just a PC anyway, it seems like a very minor switch to take them from an easy Xbox app with some available streaming games to a full Xbox Experience on any system. Profitability goes through the roof, overheads go down and those studios they're snapping up automatically gain the largest distribution platform available. It's a win-win for Microsoft and it's what I think they're heading towards. What do you think? Are Microsoft done with consoles?
  2. Pretty sure if I owned even a single Bitcoin locked on a drive and I'd be doing everything I could to get it unlocked and cash in! Why he wouldn't accept the help is beyond me!
  3. I've added it to my wishlist, lol, one day :D

  5. That looks like a good mount! I don't like the magnetic ones I've been using. Cheap, but garbage. I was going to invest in a QuadLock, but looking at how expensive they are, hell no!! lol
  6. Which container manager do you prefer to use? I like the layout of Yacht, but I find Portainer to be a better option overall.
  7. Do you like to keep your phone in a car mount, or do you keep it on you, or even just lying somewhere in the car? Personally I have a mount, but it's so cheap it doesn't actually hold firm and the magnet doesn't hold the phone to the mount itself anymore. So it stays in a tray on my center console. One day I'll try and get a decent mount.

    Upgrades

I tend to upgrade every couple of years, but lately money is more and more scarce, so I'm thinking three, maybe four years before I consider upgrading again.

First person lists a movie starting with A and we go until Z at which point we start back over at A again. Let's give it a go! A - Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
  10. Yeah, I suppose we could do that!
  11. For me I'm currently running everything off of a small Synology NAS, so not ideal. I would love to expand to a proper server setup, but at least I can run Docker containers, got my Adguard, Plex, Uptime Kuma, Heimdall and a few others running just fine.
  12. I prefer a desktop, I like the screen space of monitors, which you can get by docking a laptop, yes, but I also prefer the adaptability of a PC. It suits my needs very well!
  13. It's a little on the warm side here, still, but we're getting ready for our slightly less warm period, lol
  14. Yeah, agreed, they seem very awkward to use. If they're anything like the old ergo-keyboards, no thanks!
  15. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/vickyboard-ergonomic-keyboard/coming_soon ...that's an interesting refresh on the old ergo-keyboards! Not sure it's one I'll be looking to snatch, but it's certainly interesting to see the ergo-split come back!
  16. Very solid choice, the Mega Drive had some incredible games on it!
  17. Yep, I can imagine automation is a fun field to be in, for sure!
  18. Very true, people never thought AI would happen, but we have that now, too. Scary how it progresses.
  19. It feels like with each passing generation of GPU they're getting further and further out of reach for the average consumer. You can go a generation, two generations, three generations old and so on, and still get a great graphics card for a more affordable price, but you can't get a brand new one for anything even close to decent. Do you see that changing anytime soon? Will we soon be paying car prices for computer components?
  20. We see it coming up a lot these days, and it's something we've also seen, read and heard about it fiction down the years, but technology is becoming more and more integrated into our existence, from smart tech to AI to medical devices getting smarter and smarter. But as this technology starts to mesh with our lives, just how far is too far for us in terms of integration? Will we soon be at the point of automatons? Will we start to see automation replace jobs at the next level? We already have machines building cars, electronics, sports equipment and so on, will technology soon be programming technology? Do we start looking towards that self-fulfilling prophecy where we create technology to simplify our lives and then technology invariably takes over and possibly even replaces those lives? Where is the line, as far as you're concerned?
  21. What is your all time favourite gaming console? For me it's the Sega Saturn. People usually question that, but I had so much fun with the Saturn growing up, it was fantastic!! I love the NES, the SNES, the Master System, the Mega Drive, the N64 and so on, but the Saturn had me completely hooked.
